There are a handful of Tucson high school recruits that are considered Pac-12 caliber prospects, and leading the way is Sabino athlete Drew Dixon.
By the time the summer is over, expect Dixon to accumulate more offers.
“Besides Arizona, the other offers I have right now are San Jose State and Hawaii,” Dixon said. “I’m hopeful I can get some more here soon."
Even though there are more offers to come, Dixon admits that he is excited about the Arizona offer.
“It did feel really good to get the Arizona offer," Dixon said. "Arizona is recruiting me as an athlete. They seem to think that I can play all over the field.
"I know there has been some changes, but Rich Rodriguez is still the coach and they have good offenses for athletes. Plus, there is a good connection between my high school and UofA.”
Indeed, Dixon is quite the athlete.
“I played quarterback this past season and passed for over a thousand yards and ran for a bunch, too," Dixon said. "It was a lot of fun and I can see myself continuing to play there if that is my best position."
As of now, Dixon is unsure of when he will make a decision.
“I'm looking toward the end of my senior season, maybe on Signing Day, to make a commitment," Dixon said. "That seems to be when a lot players decide and I really don’t know anything yet. I’m not totally sure though when I will commit.”
