Arizona falls short against Oregon

Arizona lost to Oregon on Friday night. Read on for a complete recap.

Despite some late drama, Arizona got down early and could never recover as it lost to Oregon 95-89 in the Pac-12 Tournament Semifinals Friday night.

Elgin Cook made a three and Casey Benson did as well. Ryan Anderson scored, but Chris Boucher and Cook did as well to force a Sean Miller timeout with the Wildcats down 10-2. 

Kaleb Tarczewski scored two consecutive buckets before Dwayne Benjamin got on the board. Mark Tollefsen then scored, as did Jordan Bell.

A shot by Allonzo Trier proceeded to cut the Oregon lead to 14-10 with 11:40 left in the first half.

Cook made one of two from the line before Kadeem Allen scored. Jordan Bell got a bucket and Benjamin did as well.

Trier scored, but Dillon Brooks hit a three. Trier proceeded to make a three of his own and Oregon led 22-17 with 7:50 remaining in the half.

Cook and Mark Tollefsen exchanged buckets, but Gabe York banked in a three. Boucher and Chance Comanche exchanged buckets and both Tyler Dorsey and Allen made a three as Oregon led 29-27 with under four minutes left in the half. 

Cook and Brooks scored and Dorsey made a three. Bell made two free-throws and Cook scored again.

Benjamin got a bucket, but Trier made two free-throws. A dunk by Brooks then gave Oregon a 44-29 lead at the half. 

Allen made two free-throws to start the half and York hit a three. Cook then scored and Tarczewski made two free-throws.

Benson made a three and Dorsey added another. Trier scored, but another three by Dorsey put Oregon up 17 at the media timeout. 

Tarczewski made a free-throw and had a dunk soon after. Dorsey then had a three-point play, but York made a three.

Comanche and Tarczewski scored as Benjamin responded with a dunk. After a free-throw by Trier Boucher had a dunk and Oregon led 62-49 with 11:30 left. 

Anderson made a free-throw and Bell scored. Dusan Ristic got a bucket and Anderson made a free-throw.

Allen scored and Trier hit a free-throw before Tarczewski scored. Brooks then made a free-throw to go up 65-58 with 7:50 left.

Allen made two free-throws and Cook hit one and got a bucket to put the Ducks up 68-60 with about six minutes remaining.

Trier made a three and Brooks hit two free-throws. Allen then scored and Parker Jackson-Cartwright hit a three to cut Oregon’s lead to 72-68 with 2:48.

Cook scored and Jackson-Cartwright did as well. However, Dorsey hit a two to put Oregon up 76-70 with 47 seconds left.

Benson made one of two free-throws and Tollefsen hit a three. Boucher then missed two from the line and York made a three. Tollefsen then got a steal as was fouled, making one of two and tying the game at 77 to force overtime.

Bell made a free-throw and Cook added two more. Anderson scored and Allen hit one free-throw, but Benjamin and Brooks made a three to put the Ducks up 86-80 with 1:50 left.

After an Arizona turnover, Cook made a free-throw to put the Ducks up seven. York made a three. Brooks then made two free-throws and Dorsey did as well to give the Ducks a 91-83 lead with 38 seconds left.
