It seemed like a foregone conclusion that Newbury Park (Calif.) 2017 running back Chris Brooks would commit early, but it now appears that might not be case.
“You know I go back and forth on when I want to commit, but right now it looks like it will be in the summer,” Brooks said. “That should give me enough time, because I have a good idea of the schools that I like I just want to make sure I’m in the right spot.”
Arizona is probably the leader to obtain Brooks’ services.
“Wow, The University of Arizona and its coaches are all top notch," Brooks said. "They’ve been recruiting me really hard for a while and they’ve been telling me how much they like my game.
"It’s not just that with them. We talk about life in general and things like that. I can tell they are cool dudes."
Brooks is intending to get a closer look at his favorite.
“I’m going to visit there on the 25th and I’m curious to see how it goes," he said. "I also want to check out the communications set up there because when I’m done I want to be a sports analyst.”
Arizona is currently not the only school involved.
“Washington State has also been recruiting me pretty hard," Brooks said. "They are coming off a good season and I’m curious to see how the coach would use me out of the backfield. Besides that, places like Purdue and San Diego State are very interesting as well. I want to take visits.”
