Arizona offered Wolfeboro (NH) Brewster Academy center Taurean Thompson on Wednesday in hopes of eventually adding to its 2016 class.
"Thompson is a player whose best basketball is clearly ahead of him," the Scout.com evaluation states. "He has long arms, runs the floor extremely well, and also can step out and make a 15 foot jumper.
"He absolutely has to get stronger, but that should come in college. He is limited in terms of his basketball experience, so he has some rawness to his game, but the upside is through the roof."
Sources say that Syracuse, Georgetown, and Seton Hall are the three schools above the pack right now, but the Arizona offer could be intriguing.
Arizona's biggest obstacle may be location, as Thompson is originally from New York. In addition, Thompson and his mother have made no secret of the fact that the roster of each school involved will play a major role when considering immediate playing time.
