Arizona schools recruiting Hymes

K.J. Hymes is one of the top players in the state regardless of class. Read on for an update on his recruitment.

With the 2016 recruiting class presumably complete, it’s time to look to the future classes for prospective Wildcats. One doesn’t need to look far to find a high caliber big man prospect in Phoenix (St. Mary’s) 2018 recruit, KJ Hymes.

Both major in state programs are well aware of Hymes.

“Arizona and Arizona State have been recruiting me a lot and I like both the staffs,” Hymes said. “Grand Canyon has been after me as well. I started getting stuff from them last year and the interest has only picked up.

“I’ve been to Arizona a couple times now, I think. The place is really nice and they’re into their team, big time.”

Hymes has no idea where his recruitment will lead him.

“I'm totally open in my recruitment," he said. "I like all the California schools in the conference and I’m going to try and get to all of them. It seems that pretty much every one of those teams is good now.

"Oklahoma is another school that is on the list. It feels good that they all think I can play for them and help.”

Regardless of how his recruitment plays out, Hymes is going to continue to work on his game.

“The best thing I try to do is run the court and be in position so the point guard can get me the ball," Hymes said. "I’m trying to be a better defender, as well.”
