Gerald Liddell is one of the best players in 2018 and his recruitment is already reflecting the interest he has from throughout the country.
“I am hearing from the Texas schools and it is starting to branch out throughout the country,” Liddell said.
“I am keeping my options open, so I don’t have any top schools. I have offers from SMU, Tennessee, Baylor, Florida State, N.C. State, Iowa State, Texas, Kansas, Creighton, Arizona, UCLA, Houston, and Texas A&M. There are others too.”
The 6-foot-8 five-star prospect has plenty of familiarity with Arizona, as he once lived in Tucson.
“I have talked to Coach Miller before, but I am actually from Tucson,” Liddell said. “When I go there to visit family I try to look at the school and all that.
“I only lived there for six months because my granddad had passed away, so we had to go there and help my grandmother pack all her stuff. I went to school there for like six months, but I have been around the city.”
As Liddell builds a relationship with the schools recruiting him. he has a good idea of what he is looking for.
“I want to have a good relationship with the coaches and have a great team around me and a great school,” he said. “I am big on school and keeping my options open.”
As good as Liddell is, he still wants to keep improving his game.
“I want to work on my strength and my body,” he said. “I think 6-9 could be a guard position in college, so I am trying to get big on my handle and my strength so I can play inside and out.
“I consider myself a guard, but I want to be able to defend anybody, which is why I want to get bigger and stronger and faster.
“I want to guard a big if the coach wants me to and I want to be able to guard the point guard if my coach wants me to do that.”
