Arizona has a habit of prioritizing the best local talent and it landed arguably the best player in Tucson with the commitment of Sabino athlete Drew Dixon.
“After they offered me it really opened my eyes a little bit,” DIxon said. “I started getting a lot more interest, but after praying about it I decided that i wanted to end my recruitment.
"Arizona has everything I need. I like the coaches, the team is going in the right direction and I would have so many friends and family that will be able to watch.”
Dixon is training as though he will be playing wide receiver at the next level.
“I would imagine I’m going to play wide receiver, but the coaches also said I would get a chance at quarterback," he said.
"I need to get quicker in and out my breaks and continue to work on my ball skills. I’m a natural athlete and I’m getting better at using my size, but I just need to continue to improve.”
The three-star athlete is also excited about the academic aspects of his future school
“I’m going to most likely major in business," Dixon said. "There’s a couple other fields I’’m looking at, but that’s what interested me the most.
"I will be able to figure it out. It’s just a huge relief that I have this decision out of the way and I can focus on my last season with no distractions.”
