Las Vegas Findlay Prep forward P.J. Washington has moved to the next phase in his recruitment and is in the process of figuring out his official visits.
“This summer has been going well,” Washington said. “We came out of EYBL with a 14-2 record and tied for first, so it has been real good and I am now looking forward to Peach Jam.
“I am focused on setting up my officials and then going from there. Arizona, Kentucky, Texas, and North Carolina will get one for sure. I am still debating the fifth visit.”
Arizona has maintained a consistent relationship with Washington and is among the schools recruiting the five-star prospect the hardest.
“I talk with Coach Pasternack often,” Washington said. “He blows my phone up. They tell me I would play a lot of minutes and be an impact player for them.”
Once Washington takes his visits, he has a good idea of what he will be looking for.
“The biggest factor is working with a coach that will help me to improve my game,” he said.
Many kids have difficulty separating a school’s pitch from others, but Washington is confident in how he is going through the process.
“It is different because different schools play different styles,” he said. “I look at the style of play and then go from there.
“Ideally I like to get out and run and be on the fast break, but I feel I can play any style.”
As of now, Washington does not have a specific timeline for a decision.
“I am going with the flow,” he said. “I don’t have a timeline on when I want to make a decision.”
