Ira Lee closer to decision after UA visit

Ira Lee recently visited Arizona. Read on to see how the visit went and what the next step in his recruitment is.

Napa (Calif.) Prolific Prep 2017 prospect Ira Lee has been on the Arizona recruiting radar for years now. The highly acclaimed power forward prospect visited Tucson last week and liked what he saw.

“I had a really fun time and that really didn’t surprise me at all,” Lee said. “Arizona has been recruiting me as long if not longer than anyone. The recruitment hasn’t really changed and they tell me the same thing.

"They say look at Stanley Johnson, Aaron Gordon or Solomon Hill. They are almost all combo forwards who were able to do some of everything."

In addition, Lee would have the ability to play early at Arizona.

“Arizona mentions my motor a lot," Lee said. "They think I have the ability to play early because of my defense and rebounding.

"I feel very comfortable with the players and coaches and I could easily imagine myself player there. I feel honored that they have put this much time into me.”

The next couple months will be key for Lee’s development as a player and his recruitment.

“I don’t have any other visits set up, but the same list of schools hasn't changed," Lee said. "I like Arizona and I like California and the schools like that.

“I’m gearing up for the July period. This is one of my last times to prove myself against the best. After I do that I’m going to take a couple weeks and then probably have a decision. I’m not totally sure when I will make that, but that the is what I’m looking at.”
