It is no secret that the Arizona coaching staff pushed for an early commitment from Mesa Desert Ridge 2017 pass rusher Jalen Harris because his recruitment was going to blow up eventually.
Not surprisingly, Harris is now hearing from some of the best programs in the country and it wouldn’t be a surprise if he is able to choose which Pac-12 school he wants to attend.
“I’m actually visited Oregon last week,” Harris said. “When they started showing interest that was a real eye opener. The other schools I’m hearing from are Arizona, Arizona State, Oregon State and Washington State.”
The in-state schools intrigue Harris.
“ASU is right around here and they have done a good job of keeping players home and I obviously have a connection with the U of A," Harris said.
Arizona has made its pitch to Harris clear.
“I love hearing from Arizona," he said. "They've talked to me all the time about how flexible I am. They like what they’ve seen from me when I play wide receiver and they think that will only help me as I get further along in my development as a pass rusher.
"Arizona will be in it until the very end. It’s not just that my dad played there; I legitimately like the team and the city.”
Fortunately for Arizona, a decision will likely occur in the next few months.
“I’m going to choose by the end of the summer," he said. "Once I find the place that can best use my skills and I feel totally comfortable with everyone there I will go ahead and commit.”
