2018 Commitments

http://www.scout.com/player/202852-brandon-williams?s=106

AAU Team: California Supreme

EYBL Stats: N/A due to injury

Key Date: Committed on June 6

Scout Analysis

Williams is a speedy point guard who thrives in uptempo situations. He gets up and down the court in a hurry and can either use his ball skills to create for himself or teammates. Williams can really shoot it off the bounce and does a nice job using his handle to create space. He can sometimes be shoot-first, but has the vision to make teammates better. He has good lateral quickness, which aids him on defense. His upside is very high.

http://www.scout.com/player/196181-shareef-o-neal?s=106

AAU Team: California Supreme

EYBL Stats: 12 GP, 15.1 PPG, 6.1 RPG, 1.4 APG, 45.5 FG%

Key Date: Committed on April 19

Scout Analysis

Shareef O'Neal, who is the son of NBA great Shaquille O'Neal, emerged as a freshman at Windward and has shown consistent progress in his game. At 6-8, O'Neal has a 6-10 wingspan. He's mobile, active and a good athlete. O'Neal has good hands and touch and is a confident shooter from mid-range. The next steps in his development are displaying a consistent motor, strength and developing his post moves. O'Neal's shooting ability, frame and athleticism give him plenty of upside.

2018 Priority Targets

http://www.scout.com/player/193060-marvin-bagley?s=75

AAU Team: Phoenix Phamily

EYBL Stats: 13 GP, 25.8 PPG, 14.9 RPG, 3.1 BPG, 1.7 APG, 54.6 FG%

Key Date: Cut list to six on June 2, 2016. List includes Arizona

Arizona's Chances: Arizona continues to prioritize Bagley. UCLA was the rumored favorite for a bit, but that has quieted down. Kentucky and Duke are also strongly involved.

Scout Analysis

Bagley is an exquisite talent. He has the physique of a young prospect and naturally will need to become much stronger, but in other areas he plays far beyond his years. He’s extremely well-coordinated, fluid, quick, explosive and reasonably polished. A southpaw, he knocks down long jump shots, buries hooks on post-ups and handles well enough to attack off the dribble in either direction.

*****

http://www.scout.com/player/199258-bol-bol?s=106

AAU Team: California Supreme

EYBL Stats: 13 GP, 24.1 PPG, 10 RPG, 4.5 BPG, 1.9 APG, 65.6 FG%

Key Date: Named Arizona as one of his top schools in early June

Arizona's Chances: There is a good chance this one comes down to Arizona and Kentucky. Both schools are recruiting him harder than others and have made a solid impression. Arizona is definitely strongly in this one.

Scout Analysis

Bol is an extremely long and athletic center with an improving skill level and a very high upside. He has plenty of strength to gain and there is a good chance he will improve athletically. Bol Bol has a good feel for the game and due to his length and instincts, is one of the premier shot blockers in the nation. He is skilled around the basket and has shown the ability to step beyond the three-point line and make them consistently.

http://www.scout.com/player/203416-jahvon-quinerly?s=106

AAU Team: Sports U

Under Armour: 11 GP, 20 PPG, 5.5 APG, 3.5 RPG, 58.4 FG%

Key Date: Took an official visit to Arizona on June 24

Arizona's Chances: it is likely between Arizona and Villanova right now. The longer this goes, the better it probably is for Villanova. Arizona put a strong foot forward on the official visit and pushed for a commitment, but Quinerly wants to play the process out more before deciding. Arizona definitely is not out of it, but it won't be easy to get Quinerly to come west.

Scout Analysis

Quinerly has an impressive IQ and passing ability, while also providing a dose of scoring. He plays at a good pace and understands how to keep defenders off balance by changing speeds, but he also has a crafty handle, makes very good decisions in the pick and roll and is nifty finisher at the rim.

*****

http://www.scout.com/player/203156-devon-dotson?s=106

AAU Team: Team Charlotte

Under Armour Stats: 11 GP, 18 PPG, 5.7 RPG, 3.5 APG, 3.1 SPG, 46 FG %

Key Date: On June 14, named a top eight of Arizona, Florida, Kansas, Maryland, Miami, Ohio State, USC, and Wake Forest

Arizona's Chances: As of now, having another point guard on the roster isn't hurting Arizona's chances with Dotson. The Wildcats are right in the thick of things with Kansas as the rumored leader. Dotson intends to go through the entire process, so getting him on campus for an official visit will be vital.

Scout Analysis

Dotson shows a big time ability to get to the rim and also makes others better with some nice passes. He also seems more athletic than ever, and simply continues to make all the right plays and be very productive. Finding true point guards who make others better is difficult, and Dotson does that while also being a high level scorer as well.

http://www.scout.com/player/210175-jaylen-hoard?s=75

AAU Team: Team CP3

EYBL Stats: 15 GP, 14.9 points, 6.4 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 50.6 FG%

Key Date: Arizona watched Hoard in the first evaluation period of the spring

Arizona's Chances: It felt like Arizona backed off for a bit, but the Wildcats continue to recruit Hoard. We're guessing the chances of landing him aren't great due in large part to location, but Arizona will give it a shot.

Scout Analysis

Jaylen Hoard hit our radar first at the 2015 Jordan Brand International game, where he was named MVP. Then again at the FIBA u17 World Championships in Spain. A long, lanky combination forward, Hoard is extremely versatility at 6-foot-7, possibly 6-8. Hoard is a good athlete with impressive body control. He's a high-level scorer that can fill it up in a variety of ways. Although he's not a lights out shooter from distance, he's certainly a threat to make shots from three. Where he did most of his damage at the u17 World Championship was at the rim and in transition. He's not a great ball handler at this stage, but is able to slice his way to the rim and does a good job of adjusting his shots and finishing around the basket. While Hoard is primarily a perimeter prospect, every now and then he'll post up and look to score on the block. Hoard will come to the United States for his junior year of high school and plans to play college basketball.

http://www.scout.com/player/194490-jordan-brown?s=75

AAU Team: Play Hard Play Smart

Adidas Gauntlet Stats: 4 GP, 18.3 PPG, 8.5 RPG, 1.3 APG, 1.1 BPG, 50.9 FG%

Key Date: Arizona offered on August 5, 2015

Arizona's Chances: Stanford and Cal are considered the favorites, but Arizona is going to ride it out and see if it can change Brown's mind.

Scout Analysis

Jordan Brown was one of the most impressive prospects at the USA Basketball U16 trials. At 6-foot-9, Brown has a lengthy set of arms to go with good mobility and athleticism. He's a very good post scorer that has good hands, impressive and terrific footwork on the block. He can score with hooks or even use counters, and he's able to step away from the rim and make mid-range jump shots.

*****

http://www.scout.com/player/198827-gerald-liddell?s=75

AAU Team: Texas Hard Work

Under Armour Association Stats: 12 GP, 17.2 PPG, 7.8 RPG, 2.5 APG, 1.5 SPG, 43.8 FG%

Key Date: Arizona offered in November of 2015.

Arizona's Chances: Arizona is doing relatively well. Liddell has not paid a lot of attention to the process and will be a national recruit

Scout Analysis

Liddell is very thin and certainly a long way from where he'll need to be physically, but of course he also will enjoy more years of high school to develop his physique. Already, he possesses a soft, arching jump shot that's fairly accurate from medium-range. He's also quick to the ball with nice reflexes and makes some dribble moves — even going left — that suggest big things down the road.

*****

http://www.scout.com/player/200306-quentin-grimes?s=75

AAU Team: Basketball University

Adidas Summer Championship Stats: 3 GP, 11.7 PPG, 7.7 RPG, 3.3 APG, 30.8 FG%

Key Date: Arizona visited Grimes in February and will continue to follow him throughout the summer.

Arizona’s Chances: Arizona definitely has a chance here. Grimes is going to cut his list to eight soon and we would not only expect the Wildcats to make the cut, but to get an official visit as well.

Scout Analysis

A 6-foot-5 guard, Grimes has good size for a prospect that can play either guard position. He's certainly capable of playing on and off the ball, as he's a good ball handler and a terrific passer with good vision. Grimes plays at a good pace and changes his speeds well. Grimes has good form on his jump shot and has proven to be a good pull-up shooter from mid-range and also a capable shooter from distance.

http://www.scout.com/player/206325-moses-brown?s=75

AAU Team: New Heights

Under Armour Association Stats: 17 GP, 14.5 PPG, 9.2 RPG, 1.9 BPG, 51.9 FG%

Key Date: Arizona offered on July 16, 2016.

Arizona’s Chances: Brown has developed a good relationship with Book Richardson, but it still won’t be easy to get him west. Expect teams such as Maryland to prioritize him.

Scout Analysis

Moses Brown, a 7-footer out of New York, emerged during the spring in between his sophomore and junior seasons as a potential high major recruit. At his size, Brown has good length, mobility, hands and touch. Because of his size, length and instincts, Brown is a good rim protector and there's value in his defensive presence. He's also a good area rebounder on both ends of the floor. Offensively, Brown has some potential, as he has quality hands and nice scoring touch around the basket. Although he doesn't have counter moves, he is comfortable going over his left shoulder for a right jump hook. Brown is inconsistent, but he oozes with potential and progressing at a good rate.

http://www.scout.com/player/200303-nassir-little

AAU Team: 1 Family

Adidas Stats: 8 GP, 17.3 PPG, 7 RPG, 1.4 APG, 50.5 FG%

Key Date: Arizona offered on June 22

Arizona's Chances: It's still way too early to tell. Arizona is working from behind a bit, but with Little having no intention of deciding soon, the Wildcats have a chance to get in there.

Scout Analysis

Little is an excellent utility athlete who shows great promise as a two-end player. He's an excellent transition scorer already, an aggressive offensive rebounder and a defensive menace when applying pressure.

http://www.scout.com/player/194851-nazreon-reid?s=106

AAU Team: Sports U

Under Armour Stats: 11 GP, 15.5 PPG, 10.1 RPG, 2.3 BPG, 1.6 SPG, 51.4 FG %

Key Date: On June 13, named a top seven of Arizona, LSU, Kentucky, Seton Hall, Louisville, Kansas, and UCLA.

Arizona's Chances: LSU is the rumored leader to the point where it though a commitment may have come on a recent official. Arizona is going to try to get Reid on campus and a Quinerly commitment would help, but this one won't be easy.

Scout Analysis

When focused and motivated there just aren't many better prospects in the class than Nazreon Reid. With good size, athleticism, and skill, Reid is fully capable of dominating basically every time he steps on the floor, and was a walking double-double over the weekend. Now that he seems to have his motor running more consistently, look for Reid to be one of the more physically dominant players in the class and to continue to put up massive numbers every time out on the floor.

http://www.scout.com/player/195163-eric-ayala?s=106

AAU Team: We R-1

Under Armour Stats: 11 GP, 12.6 PPG, 5.2 RPG, 2.5 APG, 40 FG %

Key Date: Arizona offered on September 27, 2016. He will decide by the end of the summer if he want to reclassify to 2017.

Arizona's Chances: Not great. It has no chance if he reclassifies to 2017 and even if he doesn't, Syracuse is considered the leader.

Scout Analysis

Ayala is an intriguing prospect that can play both guard positions. He sometimes has an erratic jumper, but also shows a nice ability to get his teammates involved.

*****

http://www.scout.com/player/202102-simi-shittu/analysis?year=2017

AAU Team: CIA Bounce

EYBL Stats: 16 GP, 20.1 PPG, 10.2 RPG, 3 APG, 1.2 SPG, 58.5 FG %

Key Date: Arizona offered on July 12, 2017.

Arizona's Chances: Arizona only offered a few days ago, so it is difficult to tell. He does know Emmanuel Akot and that could help. Oregon is considered to be the current leader.

Scout Analysis

Simi Shittu, a native of Canada, is a 6-foot-8 power forward prospect with good athleticism and mobility. Shittu is a fluid runner and gets up and down the court with ease and purpose. Shittu is quick off his feet and a good leaper. Shittu has a good set of hands and solid touch around the basket. Offensively, Shittu likes to the face the rim and attack from the high post and also spends time getting on the glass hunting down put back opportunities. The next step in his game is adding a go-to move on the block.

2019 Priority Targets

http://www.scout.com/player/204497-r-j-barrett?s=106

AAU Team: UPlay Canada

EYBL Stats: 7 GP, 28 PPG, 10.8 RPG, 3 APG, 43.5 FG %

Key Date: Arizona offered on March 27, 2017.

Arizona's Chances: Arizona is legitimately involved. Kentucky has been the rumored leader, but Arizona believes that it can land Barrett. He is in no rush to decide and there is a chance he reclassifies to 2018.

Scout Analysis

Barrett has very good size at 6-foot-6 and is an extremely versatile talent. Even though he's listed as a wing, he has outstanding vision and can absolutely play on the ball due to his passing ability. Barrett's ball skills and scoring ability are also very good, as the lefty has the body control to take opponents off the dribble or pull up and his midrange jumpers. Barrett's size and length will allow him to guard multiple positions at the next level. Barrett is one of the most promising prospects in high school basketball, regardless of class.

*****

http://www.scout.com/player/209969-balsa-koprivica?s=106

AAU Team: 1 Family

EYBL Stats: 12 GP, 8.2 PPG, 5.3 RPG, 1.6 BPG, 69.2 FG %

Key Date: Arizona offered on May 9, 2017.

Arizona's Chances: It's very early in this recruitment, but Koprivica likes Arizona. He recently mentioned that he likes how the Wildcats use their big men, but isn't handling his recruitment yet and is unsure of any favorites.

Scout Analysis

He’s a center with a good frame and very long arms who impacts the game in a number of areas. Koprivica has good footwork and can finish inside but he also can step out and shoot. He’s a very impressive passer for a center while he also rebounds his area and contests shots due to his length. There’s nothing but upside here.

http://www.scout.com/player/194489-cassius-stanley?s=106

AAU Team: Earl Watson Elite

EYBL Stats: 11 GP, 14.1 PPG, 5 RPG, 1.8 APG, 46.4 FG %

Key Date: Arizona offered on September 24, 2016.

Arizona's Chances: Arizona is recruiting Stanley as hard as anyone, but it could be difficult to land him. There are family connections to USC and UCLA will be a major factor as well.

Scout Analysis

There aren't many prospects in the 2019 class that are as physically gifted as Cassius Stanley. At 6-foot-5, Stanley has good size and length for the shooting guard position. Athletically, Stanley is elite, as he's a very impressive leaper that moves fluidly and well laterally. Stanley excels in transition and on the defensive end, where he has a chance to be a very good perimeter defender. Stanley's shot mechanics and form look good and he's at the least an average long range shot at this point and there's reason to believe he'll turn into a pretty good one with time and work. He could improve his ball handling and like most players his age get stronger, but there's a lot to like about Stanley as a prospect and the direction he's headed.

*****

http://www.scout.com/player/211875-josh-green?s=106

AAU Team: Earl Watson Elite

EYBL Stats: 12 GP, 20.4 PPG, 6 RPG, 2.8 APG, 57.4 FG %

Key Date: Green took an unofficial visit to Arizona on June 13.

Arizona's Chances: We wouldn't really put anybody ahead of Arizona right now. Another recruitment in its early stages, Green is hearing from the usual suspects. Kansas, UCLA, and numerous others will be involved at the end.

Scout Analysis

Green is an extremely athletic wing with a very high upside. The Australia native is best in transition due to his outstanding body control and leaping ability. He can get to the basket and finish acrobatically. Green is a pretty competent shooter and capable of hitting jumpers off the catch and pull. He needs to keep improving his handle, while continuing to keep progressing his jumper. Green has the physical tools to rebound and defend at a high level in time.

*****

http://www.scout.com/player/211873-majok-deng?s=106

AAU Team: Arizona Powerhouse

AAU Stats: N/A

Key Date: Arizona offered on January 2, 2017.

Arizona's Chances: It remains to be seen how much Arizona truly wants Deng. There are other schools recruiting him harder and Stanford is the rumored leader as of now. Should Arizona recruit him harder, it has to be considered a favorite.

Scout Analysis

Deng is an extremely athletic and versatile small forward. He's got good size and length, with the lateral quickness to guard multiple spots on the perimeter. He has a nice stroke and is a plus shooter, while he's an impressive passer with a strong feel for a player new to the game. Deng rebounds well due to his physical tools and motor. If he can keep improving his handle and jumper, his future will be very bright.

*****

http://www.scout.com/player/207839-andrew-nembhard?s=75

AAU Team: UPlay Canada

AAU Stats: N/A due to injury

Key Date: Nembhard missed spring AAU with a stomach injury, but is expected to play this month.

Arizona's Chances: Arizona is just getting involved, so it is hard to say. Nembhard is another Canadian player that could choose to reclassify to 2018 and if he does, that would dramatically alter his recruitment from Arizona's perspective.

Scout Analysis

A native of Canada, Nembhard obviously has good size for his position, but he also shows good quickness and ability to get into the paint. Nembhard is aggressive off the dribble and looks to drive the ball when he has opportunities. With that said, he doesn't force things and shows good feel. Nembhard has good instincts and is a gifted passer.
