Rhedi Short commits to Arizona

Rhedi Short is one of the top safeties in the west and now he's an Arizona Wildcat. Read on for more on the commitment.

Arizona received more good news on Sunday with the commitment of 6-foot-1, 175-pound Los Angeles Cathedral safety Rhedi Short

“Rhedi Short is one of the top safety prospects out West and among the most physical players in the region,” Greg Biggins writes.

“Short is a tough, active safety who excels coming down hill and stuffing the run game and is an intimidating presence in the secondary. He's one of those players who loves to go for the kill shot and if you're a receiver/tight end going across the middle, you need to always keep your head on a swivel with Short near by.”

Short was a UCLA commitment at one point, but took an unofficial visit to Arizona in May and decided to back off his pledge to the Bruins only a day later.

Although he cut his list to ten, Short decided between Arizona and Oregon. The Ducks were once thought to have momentum, but Donte Williams did a very good job of building a strong relationship with Short and it paid off with a commitment.
