Encino (Calif) Crespi 2018 point guard Brandon Williams may be the best player at his position in the west for his class and his offer list is starting to reflect that.
“Kansas is one of my latest offers and it shocked me,” Williams said. “Before I was getting on a plane, I talked to one of their coaches and he told me that they hoped they weren’t too late to the party.
“When they told me, my plan was to fall asleep on the plane, but I couldn’t because I was too excited.”
Arizona and Kansas are two of the bigger schools to have offered Williams already.
“Those are the top schools and once schools like those offer you, other schools start to come along and top that,” Williams said.
“I want the blue blood offers. If I get those, I wouldn’t say it is complete, but it is a huge accomplishment.”
Williams is looking for a school that not only fits his style of play, but makes him feel comfortable as well.
“I feel that I am a guy that can create for myself and my teammates,” he said. “I am at my best in attack mode, because once I am going to the rim I feel like I can’t be stopped.
“The coaching staff will be important. I want to have a good relationship with the head coach, but the players are important as well.”
As of now, Williams has plans to see two schools.
“I am going to visit Arizona for the Red and Blue game and then I am supposed to go to Texas,” he said.
“I’m not sure when I will decide yet. The tentative plan is for next summer, but that can change. It can happen next week or next year, you never know.”
