There may not be a player that has seen his stock rise this past year as much as Mableton (Ga.) Pebblebrook point guard Collin Sexton
“This travel season just showed that my hard work, it's paying off,” Sexton said. “I had a great spring and summer, and everything is just coming over.
“I thought USA Basketball was a great experience because I'd never been coached by some of the best coaches in the world.”
Sexton recently announced a final ten that includes Arizona and he made the cute due to the rapidly increasing attention he was receiving.
”It was getting a little nerve wracking,” Sexton said. “Everybody calling me, morning and night. I just thought I needed to cut my list.
“Probably in August I will make another cut. I want to take my five officials.”
Not only is the Arizona coaching staff recruiting Sexton, but he has had contact with a friend on the team as well.
“I talk to Kobi Simmons all the time,” Sexton said. “He is pretty much from where I live, so I talk to him a lot.
“They want me to get up there for the Red and Blue game. They tell me it is a big event and it is already sold out, so I have to make sure I’ve got my head in the building.”
When looking at Arizona and the other schools involved, Sexton has a good idea of what is important to him.
“I am going to ask other players how they feel about the coaches and if they say it is great, I am going to take that in mind,” Sexton said.
“Education is also big. I want to talk to people in the business department and see what direction they can lead me in.”
