In what may have been one of the worst kept secrets in Tucson, ESPN has gone public with the suspension of Allonzo Trier for testing positive for a performance-enhancing drug during the preseason.
Trier was tested in September and Arizona has known since early October that he was suspended. Since then, Trier has appealed and won, but has yet to be cleared.
Unfortunately for Trier and Arizona, he will not be allowed to play until the substance is completely out of his system. That means that he could either be cleared any day or miss the entire season.
Trier averaged 14.8 points last season and was expected to be one of the best players in the country this season.
