Plenty of bright spots in Red and Blue Game

Arizona held its annual Red and Blue Game on Friday night. Read on for a complete recap.

Blue team: Simmons, Markkanen, Allen, Comanche, Smith. 

Red Starters: PJC, Alkins, Ristic, Pinder, Trier

Dusan Ristic started the game off with a bucket before Allonzo Trier added a three-point play. Ray Smith and Rawle Alkins then exchanged buckets and Lauri Markkanen got on the board. 

Alkins made one of two free-throws and Kadeem Allen scored. Ristic and Keanu Pinder then exchanged hoops before Markkanen hit a three.

Trier and Markkanen scored again before Alkins did as well. A bucket by Ray Smith and Kadeem Allen then put the Red team up 16-15 with three minutes left int he first half.

Ristic and Allen both scored and Ristic made one of two free-throws. Chance Comanche got his first bucket, but Ristic and Ray Smith exchanged buckets.

Parker Jackson-Cartwright and Markkanen then both hit threes to end the half tied at 24. 

Allen started the half with a basket and Jackson-Cartwright made a free-throw. Ristic and Kobi Simmons both scored and Alkins and Allen did as well.

A three by Alkins then had the Red leading 32-30 with 7:39 left in the game.

Markkanen made two free-throws and Trier scored consecutive buckets. Markkanen made two more from the line before Trier hit a three.

Smith made two free-throws and Trier scored. Allen responded with a bucket, but Alkins made a three-point play to put Red up 44-38 with under five minutes remaining.

Ristic got a three-point play to extend the lead to nine. Allen made two free-throws and Alkins scored before Comanche scored tow consecutive buckets.

Simmons made three straight free-throws, but Ristic scored and Trier added a jumper. Smith hit two free-throws, but the scoring stopped there.
