After Saturday’s loss to Washington State, Rich Rodriguez did not see any silver lining.
“I didn’t see any positives today at all,” Rodriguez said.
In fact, Rodriguez did not mince words when asked about the Wildcats’ performance.
“They did a nice job,” he said of Washington State. “Certainly I am embarrassed and we’re embarrassed. They beat us in every phase, starting with coaching.
“We have a lot of work to do and we’re not going to quit trying, but we have to try to find some ways and solutions to get better.”
The defense struggled throughout the game, as the Washington State passing game had a historic day.
“It’s really frustrating,” Rodriguez said. “We didn't do anything to stop them at all the whole game.
“We have to figure out as a staff, no matter who is in there, we have to figure out something we can do and string some wins together.”
Anu Solomon was able to play a good chunk of the game and put together an inconsistent performance.
“He was competitive, but it’s just not clicking at times,” Rodriguez said. “Sometimes you press a little bit as an offense when you’re not executing like you want."
