Re-Al Mitchell (Blair Angulo)

2018 Arizona Quarterback Watch List

We take a look at Arizona's early quarterback targets in 2018.

Arizona has a commitment from Joiner and is going to keep him at quarterback. We’re going to go ahead and tell you now that he will be difficult to keep a hold of when you consider that other schools are certainly going to get involved. Expect Joiner to take his official visits and for Arizona to have to fight to hold on to him.

Arizona would love to land Thompson-Robinson, but it very likely won’t happen. UCLA seems to be the favorite and he will have his choice of schools.

The Wildcats were one of the first schools to offer Penix, but it won’t nearly be the last. He does like Arizona from when we last talked to him, but it is usually difficult to get a kid out of Florida when he has SEC offers.

Miller is a traditional drop back passer with a heck of an arm. He has been on campus before and while he does not have an offer, Miller is a prospect to keep an eye on.

Arizona offered Mitchell and it is probably one of the easiest ones it could make. We would be surprised if either Southern California school offers Mitchell, which can only help Arizona in this case.

Alexander likes Arizona, but currently does not have an offer. We would expect Arizona to keep evaluating him and he will likely visit campus at some point.

Arizona does a good job with Corona and could wind up getting involved here. McKee has numerous schools that have already offered and he will have his choice. The coaching staff is evaluating him, but keep McKee in mind.

O’Connor does not have a major offer yet, but he is one of the better signal callers in Southern California. At this point, he is simply a prospect to watch, but that can change in a hurry.

Arizona has shown it is not afraid to get into Michigan and much of that has to do with Chris Singletary. Day is another player it could choose to get involved with, but a Michigan State offer is going to be difficult to overcome.

Arizona has landed players a player from Auburndale in the last two classes and Thomas could be the third. He does not have an offer yet, but at 6-foot-3, 230 pounds, Thomas is intriguing. He can also line up wide and is a strong athlete, so it makes sense to take a long look at him.

You can pretty much say the same thing for Shrout as we did Alexander. He likes Arizona quite a bit, but has some work to do before getting an offer.

Milton received an offer last week and will probably be one of Arizona’s top prospects at quarterbacks. He is a bit raw in his motion, but pretty accurate. In addition, Milton has good size. Should Arizona want to land him, it’s going to be a battle with numerous other schools.
