Chase Jeter headed to Arizona

Former Duke center Chase Jeter has announced his transfer to Arizona. Read on for the latest.

Former Duke center Chase Jeter announced his transfer to Arizona on Tuesday afternoon.

Jeter's career at Duke was relatively disappointing as he dealt with injuries and an inconsistent rotation. He saw action in 48 games and made six starts, averaging 2.1 points and 2.2 rebounds.

Last season, Jeter was hampered by a herniated disk in his back and sat out the final two months of the season. However, there were some bright spots.

The former five-star prospect had seven points, four rebounds and three blocks in a career-high 26 minutes against Kansas and showed glimpses of potential.

Coming out of high school, Jeter was rated as the No. 15 overall recruit by Scout in addition to being a McDonald's All-American and the Nevada Gatorade Player of the Year in 2015.

He averaged 16.2 points and 10.6 rebounds as a senior to help lead Bishop Gorman to a 27-6 record and a fourth consecutive Nevada Division I state title.

Jeter will have to sit out a year, but will likely step into a starting role once eligible in the 2018-19 season.
