Rothbart also visited Indiana, Missouri and Cal. He's still considering a trip to Stanford. He hosted one other in-home visit. Washington Head Coach Lorenzo Romar made his presentation earlier the same day Arizona came in.
"Robert might still visit Stanford," Nada went on to say. "But he scored only 1140 (Stanford requires a 1200) on his SAT."
If the decision of where Robert would play his college ball were left to his mother, it would be very good for the Wildcats.
"I saw Arizona play twice last year," Nada said. "We went to the Cal and Stanford games and I was so impressed with the kids and the confidence they played with. They always knew what to do. They were prepared and didn't let their emotions get in the way. I was very impressed with the way they were coached."
Rothbart comes to Tucson for his on-campus visit next week and his mother will accompany him on the visit.
I asked Nada how she hopes the visit goes and said, "I'd love to hear Robert say ‘This is it. This is where I want to be. I want to help Coach Olson get to where he wants to go and I want to be a part of it.'"
