Ryen Carew has put up tremedous numbers this fall and schools are just now starting to find him. It is not because he was a no-name before, it is because he transfered schools and it was unbeknownst to many colleges. Well, the word is out and recruiting is heating up for Carew. "I am starting to get a lot of stuff from Arizona, Washington, Oregon State, really all of the Pac Ten, and the Ivy League schools."

Crew claims no favorites.

"I am open to everyone right now," Crew said. "Schools are just starting to find me again. So I will listen to anyone."

One of the schools he will listen to is Arizona.

"I know a lot of players have came out of there and gone to the league. Guys like Trung Candidate. I played with one of their commits at the Beyond 2000 Camp, Corion Cooper, and he said a few things about them. I would just have to get used to that heat out there, although I have talked to a few people who have been there and they say it is not too bad."

Carew is used to playing running back but says he would be open to other positions.

"I don't care if I have to go somewhere as an athlete, that is fine."

On the year, Ryen has 1,280 yards rushing and 16 touchdowns on offense. On defense he has 28 tackles with 18 of them solo.

Crew says that he has no standing offers right now but that Colorado offered him last spring. They have not made it clear to him on whether or not that offer still stands, but he does say the Buffs are recruting him the hardest.

Verdugo Hills takes on Grant next.
