The Arizona Basketball program got a breath of good news today when it received a commitment from a 6-3 combo-guard from London, Ky. The Wildcats had been seeking the services of combo-guard, but when Shaun Livingston recently shunned the UA in favor of Duke it looked like the talent pool had dried up until next season.
According to informed sources close to the basketball department, the University of Arizona
has received a commitment from Daniel Dillon, a 6-foot-3 guard from Australia who is currently playing at London (North Laurel), Ky.
Arizona coach Lute Olson has been adamant about signing a combo out of this class. The UA aggressively pursued Jordan Farmar, a 6-2 point from Los Angeles (Taft), Calif, and Livingston, a 6-7 point from Peoria. Farmar selected UCLA early this summer and Livingston is going to Duke.
Dillon came to the United States as an exchange student and is a relative unknown among basketball recruiting analysts.
I'll have a full story after speaking with his coach at North Laurel this evening.
