Pre-Madness Recruiting Update

At least three recruits will be on the UA campus this weekend for official visit and will attend Midnight Madness Oct. 12. This is an elite group as each is rated amoung the nation's Top 50 players.

Three of the nation's best high school basketball players will be on the UA campus. Hassan Adams, a 6-4 two-guard from Los Angeles (Westchester), Calif., Andre Iguodala, a 6-6 wing from Springfield (Lamphier),Ill., and Chris Rodgers, a 6-3 combo-guard from Portland (Wilson), Ore. will all be making their official UA campus visit. Brandon Roy, a 6-5 wing from Seattle (Garfield),Wash., might also come but his visit is still somewhat up in the air.

Roy has not yet received the results of the ACT test he took Sept. 21. However, he could get them back any day. He can not take any official visits until he posts a test score.

But even if he does post the score, there is no guarantee he'll make the trip. Roy is scheduled to take the SAT this Sat., Oct. 13, and he would likely stay in Seattle to take the test.

Adams has taken the test but has not yet posted a qualifying score. He'll take the SAT test while he's here in Tucson.

Rodgers has already give Arizona a verbal commitment and the Wildcats are in very good shape in its quest to land at least one of the others this weekend.

Adams is the most likely to commit, and I would not be surprised if he gives Arizona a verbal during this weekend or shortly upon his return home. If for some reason they miss on Adams, Roy is waiting in the wings if he qualifies. Iguodala is not completely out of the picture, but he's probably leaning to Arkansas.

Arizona has three scholarships to give.
