Rashad Austin, 6-7 JR PF Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei, is a developing big man who projects to the mid major level at this time. However, Austin has heard from some high major programs and it's those programs that he has the most interest in right now.

"I like Louisville," said Austin. "A Notre Dame coach and Reggie Theus from Louisville came out to our practice."

We asked Austin if he had any dream schools when he was growing up. "Duke," said Austin. "My dad, Ronald Austin, played for Lute Olson at Long Beach St. Both Arizona and Duke have great coaches."

When questioned about the factors he's looking at in making his choice, Austin said, "The education, the basketball and the overall environment. I would like to stay close to home."

Austin said he's in no hurry to choose a school. "I'll take my time," said Austin.

Austin told us that he has a 2.7 GPA. He said he's making an academic adjustment at Mater Dei after transferring from Claremont. "It's tougher here," said Austin.
