In Tuesday's win over Texas in New York City, Adams posted his first career double-double with career-high totals of 30 points and 10 rebounds. In that outing, he hit 12-of-21 FG attempts and scored 16 first-half points.
He closed the week with a 20-point, two-block performance in leading UA to the come-from-behind win over No. 22 Marquette. Adams knocked down 7-of-11 FG attempts in the game, including a career-best 4-of-7 from three-point range. The effort improved his season averages to 17.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 2.6 blocks per game, while shooting 48.5 percent from the field.
It is the first time that Adams has been recognized by the league office and the 60th award all-time for the Wildcats, a Pac-10 best. It is the first such honor for the Wildcats this season.
Ninth-ranked Arizona (4-1, 0-0 Pac-10) will be in action again on Wednesday, Dec. 17, vs. Saint Mary's. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. MST and can be seen on Fox Sports Net Arizona.
