Lineman leaning toward Cats

The Wildcats have been doing very well in recruiting over the last few weeks. Since the holidays Arizona football has really started to attract some very good prospects. Although they are now chasing some highly rated players, there is one lesser rated player the Cats still like and apparently he likes them a lot as well.

Dillon Hansen isn't the highest rated offensive lineman in the country, but he is an intriguing prospect. At 6-5, 285 Hansen has great size and even better, room to add weight. He was being recruited by the prior staff and the Mike Stoops staff has continued the pursuit. Although a rumor surfaced that he had his mind made up, Hansen insists he has not committed to either Texas Tech or Arizona, although one school does lead.

"I'm seriously leaning toward them," Hansen said of the Wildcats.

Hansen did not want to speak much more on the recruitment process, choosing to make things official later on.

"I'm going to wait until national signing day," Hansen noted. "I really don't have anything else to say until then."

Family is a major draw for Arizona. Las Cruces is only a four-hour drive and his father lives in Tucson. He visited in December and liked what he saw.

"It's a real nice school," Hansen said. "I like the staff, plus my dad lives real close to campus."

Hansen has his list narrowed down to the Wildcats and Texas Tech. He visited Lubbock a week before he tripped to Arizona and originally favored the Red Raiders, but after the visit to Tucson he became quite torn and was very stressed out.

Now it seems as if the Wildcats are in the driver's seat, but we'll have to wait until Signing Day to find out.
