Adams makes a decision, Iguodala down to two

Hassan Adams, a 6-4 two-guard from Los Angeles (Westchester), Calif., will be at McKale Center Sunday for the Wildcats opening game of the 2001-02 season against the EA Sports All-Stars. Adams second visit to the UA campus comes just two days after his commitment to Arizona.

According to a source close to the UA Basketball Department who asked to remain anonymous, Adams spoke with UA assistant coach Jay John Friday evening and made the commitment. After speaking with John, Adams tried to call UA Head Coach Lute Olson, but the two had not spoken as of Saturday morning.

Adams chose Arizona over UCLA, Cal, Kansas and Oregon.

Also, according to the same source, Andre Iguodala has pared his list of schools to Arizona and Arkansas.

Iguodala, a 6-5 wing player from Springfield (Lamphier),Ill., had also been considering Boston College and Kansas. However, Larry Butler, Iguodala's AAU coach, told our source Arizona or Arkansas would be the school selected, KU and BC had been scratched.

The fact that Iguodala is apparently dropping Kansas makes me believe the Wildcats have a very good chance of winning this battle as well. When Iguodala returned from his official KU campus visit two weeks ago, he raved about how much he enjoyed himself. I thought at the time KU had jumped ahead of Arizona. However, I've felt all along that Arkansas is the school to beat so, at this writing it's still too close to call.
