An Early Look: 2005 QB Recruiting

We start our look at the 2005 recruiting class with the quarterback position. We look ahead to what the Cats have and what they will need. They return the top four players from last year, but introduce no new quarterbacks.

'05 NEED: High
WISH LIST: 1 or 2

The Cats did not add a QB to this year's incoming class, but had four signal callers already on the roster. They have no seniors and a redshirt freshman. They pursued a few quarterbacks for this year's class, but when they could not land them they passes on lesser players.

"We want a quarterback that can make a difference," Mike Stoops said. "We feel like we have four great quarterbacks under scholarship right now, and they are all relatively young, so we feel like the quarterback position can be the strength of our football team if we develop them properly." In '05 they hope top attract a top tier quarterback prospect to go along with the solid crop of passers they have on roster.
