Wildcat women down Oregon State

Arizona cruised to an easy 81-58 win over Oregon State in the first round of the Pac-10 Tournament. Aimee Grzyb scored a career-high 24 points and Shawntinice Polk added 22.

It was a great homecoming for Grzyb who is a native of San Jose, site of the event. She was 9-of-14 from the floor, including 6-of-9 from 3-point range. Ironically enough, she struggled the day before in warm-ups.

"Yesterday I couldn't make a 3-pointer if my life depended on it," Gryzb told the Associated Press.. "But I cam out today and they started going down."

The game was tied early in the second half, but the Wildcats went on a 16-0 run, holding the Beavers scoreless for 6:30.

Arizona actually trailed by nine in the first half, but used a 10-0 lead to get back into the game.

Hollye Chapman scored 23 points in the loss.

Arizona plays Washington on Sunday. The Wildcats beat the Huskies last weekend to win their first Pac-10 title.
