"I don't know why he would tell you (he was going to wait and sign in April or that he wanted to visit Arizona)," his father said when I told him of our conversation from Thanksgiving Day. "He can't do that now that he's signed with Washington. I know it's been hard for him to tell some folks but he just wanted to get it over with."
His father said Brandon chose UW over Arizona and Gonzaga for a number of reasons.
"He has a lot of friends who go to school ( at UW) and it's the hometown school," his father said. "He wanted his family and friends to see him play and the support group is important to him."
His father also said Arizona was a major factor "but in the end he felt he could be as good a player at UW as he could at Arizona. It's a long plane ride for the family to Arizona, so I'm glad he made the decision he did."
