UA football player collapses
The yet-to-be-identified player collapsed on the UA practice field at approximately 1:30 pm during a voluntary football conditioning session that was scheduled to run no longer than a half hour "He received immediate medical attention," Arizona Athletic Director Jim Livengood said. "There is no status (on his condition) at this point." Both UA strength and conditioning coaches and the athletic trainer were on the scene. "Everyone on hand did exactly what they needed to do," Livengood said. Paramedics arrived shortly thereafter and TFD spokesperson Randy Ogden confirmed the player was given chest compressions. Arizona head coach Mike Stoops traveled en route to UMC shortly before 2pm. Cat Tracks will continue to update this story as information becomes available.
