adidas: Marcus Williams Update

SUWANEE, GEORGIA - Inside the Ville's Evan Daniels caught up with wing prospect Marcus Williams at the adidas Superstar Camp on Thursday afternoon.

Marcus Williams was impressive in his first game at the adidas Superstar Camp. Williams scored 12 points, grabbed 4 rebounds, and tossed out 2 assists.

Marcus is interested in a lot of schools such as Louisville, Connecticut, Maryland, Michigan State, Texas, Florida, Arizona, Kansas, and NC State.

"I've been getting looked at by a lot of schools, and I'm definitely real happy about that, I just decided that I'm going to make my decision in the fall. I've been contacted by a lot of coaches and I have contacted a lot of coaches really trying to get to know them and get a feel for them."

When asked what he was looking for in a college Williams responded, "An opportunity to play, I want to be able to show my stuff and show everyone that I can really play and be an impact person. Also a good coach and playing style is important too."

Williams wants to play right away and he says that is an option at U of L, "Coach Theus really talked about their being an opportunity to play, their going to play in a big conference (Big East), and I'd be playing with Terrance who is one of my real good friends."

Marcus said that Terrence Williams decision to go to U of L was a big plus. He said Terrance really hasn't pushed U of L on him to hard, but that he slides in little tidbits about the school.

Williams stated that his decision would come in the fall.

CAT TRACKS' ANALYSIS: The fact that Williams is waiting until fall is good news for Arizona. The Cats like Williams a lot, but are still trying to sift through all of the talented wings who like the program. They should have a better idea about who they want come fall. Expect Williams to visit then and be seriously in the mix as the Cats try to lure a big wing or two.
