ARIZONA HEAD COACH LUTE OLSON:
"We did not do a good job on a lot of things in the first half. We had a lot of blown lay-ins, and allowed them to get the lead up to where it was in the first half. We also had some situations where we forced the ball way too much."
"We did a much better job in the second half, and the emotion that we showed in the second half is what we need to show for 40 minutes. It was good to see the way our guys battled back in the second half."
KANSAS HEAD COACH ROY WILLIAMS:
"It was a close game, and I was stunned that we outrebounded them by one rebound. Arizona had 27 offensive rebounds. I can't remember a game where we won with the opponent having 27 offensive rebounds."
"You have to feel bad for Arizona becasue they played well. We had to continue to tell them to play hard, and we made clutch shots at the end."
KANSAS FORWARD DREW GOODEN:
"I am really proud of our team's performance today. This is the loudest place that I have played in my collegiate career, so this is a great win. We showed a lot of maturity out on the court today."
"Our first four games are against top teams in the country, but losing this game puts our heads back in the right place."
"They made shots and we didn't. It was more of an experience factor tonight."
"Those guys are great athletes. This game was a good wake-up call."
