The three star corner/safety prospect decided to do it after making an unofficial visit to Tucson. "Yeah, I just did it a little while ago," said Hall. "I was 90 percent sure when I left there that I was going to commit. I just had to come home and talk to my coaches before I did it."
Hall elaborated on why he decided to take his game west. "While I was there the coaches were showing me film of their safety positions and they said I could play all three spots."
Hall has the ability to play corner or safety but said that Wildcat coaches love the way he helped against the run from the safety spot and also like his pass coverage skills.
Hall plans on coming out to Tucson next summer to immerse himself in the Wildcats' weight program. By doing so he feels he can play right away.
Corey was recruited to UA by Mark Stoops. "It was nice that I was recruited there by one coach. Mark is the defensive coordinator, my position coach, and recruits my area so it worked out well. He is a great coach. We spent a lot of time together while I was there and he is a very straight-forward guy."
Hall loved his visit and was ready to commit but waited so that he could talk it over with his high school coaches and his parents. They all agreed that the situation was a good one.
"My parents would probably want me to stay closer to home, but they know this is a good fit for me," Hall said. "I am used to being away from home after traveling for AAU basketball.
The Cats may not be done landing DeSoto players as Hall tell us. Donald Horton actually called to tell Hall he would be committing if Hall committed. Hall had yet to speak with Horton after his verbal, but believes that he may commit at any time.
