"I have really narrowed it down to U of A and Washington," said Borg. "I also like Oregon State and I would say they are the team besides my top two I have the most interest in. I am also still looking at Stanford, Northwestern, Utah, and Notre Dame a little bit."
Borg has written offers from all of the schools, but Stanford. He has to pass through admissions for The Cardinal first. Palo Alto is where his Sister attends school. Utah may also have an 'in' with Daniel if they offer his teammate, quarterback Ryan Crawford. "That would definitely improve their chances in my eyes. Ryan and I are good friends and he really did well at their camp. They have talked about offering him."
Daniel has had a lot of time to spend with UA's offense line coach (Eric) Wolford and is very fond of him. "At first I thought he was a little intense and was a guy that would be really hard on you if you made a mistake, but after spending more time with him I realized how great a coach he is. We have watched film together and he has shown me a lot of things. He can tell you exactly what you did wrong on every single play if you got beat. I have not worked with a coach as good as him in a while. He is extremely personable once you get to know him."
Borg has also enjoyed his time with Mike Stoops. "He really seems to have made me a priority and I like that."
Daniel's good friend and former teammate, Tyler Pelluer, is in Washington now playing football and will be a high school senior. His Father, Scott, is a coach for the Huskies. Scott was an assistant coach on the former Mackovic staff at UA. "If Tyler was to go to Washington that would really help them. I would love to play ball with him again."
Borg made unofficial visits to his top three, plus Stanford this summer. He has not gone east yet to see Notre Dame and Northwestern, but he may take official visits there this Fall. "I definitely want to take a couple of official visits. I am not sure yet if I will officially visit the schools I have already seen, though."
Daniel says he expects to make his college decision between November First and the 31st of December. He says that his friends and family are pulling for him to attend school in Tucson. He is not originally from Tucson, though, he moved to the town when he was Ten from Alabama.
He carries a 4.06 core GPA and scored an 1180 on his SAT.
