"Arizona is still one of my favorite schools," explained Sargeant. "My top seven would be Stanford, Fresno State, San Diego State, Oregon, Oregon State, Arizona, and San Diego State. All of the schools like me at running back except Arizona and Fresno State. Those two like me at corner."
"Coach (Arizona receivers coach Charlie) Williams told me that they are coming to my first game and if I show well they might offer me after that. They like me at corner but the problem is I do not have a lot of tape at corner from last year so they have to see me play there this year. I will be starting both ways."
Lydell now has written offers from BYU, Stanford, Fresno State, Nevada, and San Diego State. The Cardinal is his favorite. He is currently in his hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania visiting his old friends and took an unofficial visit to Pitt last week. "I went up to Pitt and they are coming in on me now. West Virginia and North Carolina are also starting to show quite a bit of interest."
He moved from Pittsburgh to Lompoc his sophomore year.
Sargeant says his parents favors the east coast schools but out west Stanford is their favorite. "They like the academics Stanford offers."
He has not scheduled any official visits yet but says that Stanford will get one for sure. He has already made two unofficial visits to Palo Alto over the summer.
Cabrillo gets their season underway against Taft High September 10th. They have a scrimmage versus Santa Barbara September 3rd.
Lydell is fully qualified with a 3.5 core GPA and a score of 1090 on his SAT.
