PLAY OF THE GAME
Mike Bell clinches the game with a nine-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter. Bell ran the sweep around the left end and dove into the corner for the Wildcats' second score.
Roger Robinson got to the corner and ran 30-yards to put NAU at the Wildcats' 13-yard line. After the run he put his hands on his hips and glared at the crowd. Apparently he did something to offend an official because he flagged the NAU tailback for unsportsmanlike conduct. The penalty knocked them back to the28. On the next play Jason Murrieta hit Kory Mahr at the 15, but Brooks delivered a crushing blow that jarred the ball loose. Sean Jones recovered the fumble ending the NAU drive.

The offensive line gave up just one sack.
THINGS WE DID NOT LIKE

Arizona never got things rolling on offense and the defense did not dominate at the line of scrimmage.
Arizona did not delve deep into their bench and used a lot of reserves.
After the initial drive the Wildcats did not score again until mid-way through the fourth quarter.
FIRST PLAY OF STOOPS ERA
The Wildcats attempt a screen pass to Mike Bell, which is dropped.
Bell took it in from two yards out to cap an 80-yard drive on the Wildcats' first possession.
ALL BELL ALL THE TIME
The first seven plays went to Bell. After the initial incompletion, Bell rushed five times for 24 yards and caught a pass for seven yards. Michael Jefferson's 11-yard catch on the eighth play of the drive finally broke the string.
THE REAL HEROES
Mike Stoops gave game balls to the strength and conditioning coaches after the Wildcat's great fourth quarter.
Former fullback Sean Jones had a number of big hits that drew some "oohs" and "ahhs" from the crowd.
NAU WR Kory Mahr had a tough night. In the third quarter he made a catch at the UA 10-yard line only to have Darrell Brooks crush him, causing him to fumble. He was down on the field for quite a while. When he finally got up he headed to the sideline but stumbled a few times before he got off the field. In the fourth quarter he was leveled by a cut block from behind as the Wildcats were returning an interception.
