"I've been to both of Purdue's home games so far," said Paxson. "I had a good time. I got to talk with Coach Tiller while I was there. Jimmy Ladd is a former teammate of mine at Purdue. I got to hang out in the locker room before the game, so I had a good time."
Another big weekend is on the docket for the Indiana prep star.
"I'm going to Knoxville this weekend for the Florida/Tennessee game. Coach Atkins at Tennessee was the first coach to call me this month. He called me at 4:30 AM," Paxson added. "I've also gotten calls from Florida, Purdue, Arizona, and Michigan."
Are any of the teams starting to separate themselves from the pack?
"I still have the same Top 7 (Arizona, Florida, LSU, Michigan, Oklahoma, Purdue, and Tennessee). I have one official visit set up. I'm going to Purdue on October 8th; the weekend they play Ohio State. Tennessee and Florida will also get visits for sure. All of the teams are even right now."
Paxon is one of the top prospects in the Midwest. He is a four-year varsity starter and has 47 sacks in the past two years.
Baseball could also be in his future as Paxon is a legitimate major league catcher prospect in baseball that hit .412 with six HRs last season.
He's known for his great combination of size and speed. He's very physical, yet he has a burst that helps him get to the quarterback. Projected as a college defensive end, some feel he could bulk up enough to move inside.
