Williams Discusses Arizona Visit

Marcus Williams, a 6'6", 190 pound Junior shooting guard/small forward from Seattle, Washington took an official visit from Arizona this past weekend.

Marcus Williams was pleased with his visit to Arizona this weekend and will visit UConn next weekend before making a decision.

"[The visit] went good," explained Williams. "They really helped themselves this weekend."

Williams has always been highly interested in Arizona. Prior to an in-home visit last week, Williams had not been feeling much love. However, as a result of the visit, Williams is even more interested in Arizona.

"They were always right there," Williams said describing Arizona.

During his visit Williams did a number of things. On Friday he spoke with academic advisors and the team trainer, as well as played pickup. Williams was very impressed with Arizona's facilities after the visit, especially in the nutrition program.

"The trainer is really involved with the players," said Williams. "They (Arizona) have a big nutrition program, done individually. They have a great facility. I was very impressed."

Williams played pickup on Friday, and felt that he did not start off great, but the players really helped him along.

"The players were great," Williams said. "I started out slow and they really let me get into my flow."

Williams spoke highly of the players, explaining that their conversations were very heartfelt, and in his best interest. The players were not merely trying to get Williams to go to school at Arizona.

"[The players] described what it would be like to go there," Williams explained. "They were trying to help me with whatever decision I make."

Williams will visit UConn this upcoming weekend, and will make a decision shortly after that. However, Williams is heavily interested in Arizona, and has been all along.

"I can see myself playing there," Williams said.
