"I really like the new staff there and the fact that they want to bring a winning tradition to the program," said Shotwell. "With Stoops' background I think they will be ranked among the top schools in a couple years."

Coach Williams is recruiting him for the Cats. "He came to watch me play in our game against Rio Mesa a couple weeks ago."

The Cats are the only current offer for Shotwell but he believes a couple of other schools are getting close. "Cal-Poly and San Luis Obispo are showing a lot of attention."

The linebacker claims that he will definitely trip to Nevada and UA. Other schools he likes include Cal, Boise State, and Fresno State. "I don't want to rule anyone out at this point. I will be interested in all of the schools that are interested in me."

Shotwell was a first team all-league, county, and CIF selection as a junior after recording 80 tackles, 11 sacks, and three interceptions. He returned two of them for touchdowns.

He carries a 3.0 core GPA and has scored an 870 on his SAT but will take it again on November 6th. The prospect is thinking of majoring in Political Science or Business.

Dos Pubelos is 2-4 on the year and 1-0 in league play. They take on Santa Barbara, tonight.
