The big lineman prospect has been starting both ways for 9-1 Timpview this fall. "I won't really know my stats until after the season," he explains. "I know I have quite a few sacks and a couple of fumble recoveries on defense. I am not sure how many pancake blocks I have on offense."
"All of them are recruiting me about the same but if I had to pick two showing the most interest they would be BYU and Arizona."
Coach Canales is recruiting him for the Cats and Matt's father and the coach go way back. "They coached together at BYU and my dad has always called him "Chico" for whatever reason," Reynolds said laughing.
Despite the fact that his father has coached at BYU for 20 years and his two brothers play offensive line for the Cougars, Matt told Scout.com in the past that does not mean he is going there. "If I did commit to BYU and my dad were to be fired before I came back from my (two-year) mission (BYU has had two consecutive losing seasons), I don't think I'd want to go there anymore," said Reynolds. "Where my dad went to coach (if he got fired) would affect my decision. I think it would be hard to play for a school that fired my Dad."
The tackle prospect will be scheduling his official visits for November and December, after the season.
Timpview takes on Bonneville, this Friday.
