JUCO DE likes Arizona

Fresh off the huge win over in state rival Arizona State, the Arizona Wildcat coaching staff is hard at work this week going out and doing in home visits with their top commits and other top prospects on their recruiting board. No doubt the Cat coaches will be using the big win as evidence of the promising future of the program when visiting the prospective recruits.

One recruit that will be hosting the Cats head man later this week is Mount San Antonio College defensive end Nuu Tafisi, who was in Tucson on his official visit for the ASU game.

"I was real good," said the 6-foot-1-inch, 260 pound Tafisi. "It was not what I expected at all, it was much better than I expected actually. I was not expecting that much but it was a great trip."

Tafisi says that he connected with the players on the team and the other recruits that were in town.

"I was hosted by (Kili) Lefotu," he said. "He is a real nice guy, he is real cool. I also talked to Fata (Avegalio, student assistant and former UA DE) and he is a cool man, I liked him a lot. I hung around with the other recruits too. Aleem (Harris) and I got along real well. He and I are both going to Oregon State next weekend so we can have something to compare Arizona with. He is a good guy."

All of the recruits that were in town expressed their thoughts on the game, the atmosphere and the overall feeling they got on Friday and Tafisi threw in his two cents as well.

"Oh man, the game was awesome, it was a very good game," he said. "I was really glad U of A won, I wanted them to win. The crowd was big and loud and it was just a fun place to be that day. The future looks real good down there, seriously, I could see myself playing there."

Tafisi has offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Oregon, Oregon State, Cal, Missouri and Houston but will decide between the Pac-10 schools.

"The other schools are too far away, I want to stay out west more," he said. "I am going to Oregon State next weekend with Aleem and after that I have a trip set up to Arizona State but I might not take that if I decide to commit before that and after the Oregon State visit. I could make my decision after my Oregon State visit."

According to Tafisi, all of the recruits that were in attendance got together before they left and had a nice talk about the future.

"We all got together and talked before we left," he said. "We all talked about all of us going to Arizona. I know a couple of the guys (Nichols and Johnson) committed before they left and me and Aleem might commit after we got to Oregon State. The other guys should commit too I think. The tight end from Hawaii, (Brandyn McCall) really liked it and he said that he wanted to talk to his parents but he said that he will most likely commit to Arizona. He bought a U of A hat when he was there."

Speaking of the coaching staff, Tafisi says that the whole staff is great and he would like to play for them.

"Mike and Mark Stoops are always excited," he said. "The whole coaching staff is great. The defensive ends coach, Robinson, is a good coach and a cool guy."

Cattracks will stay in touch with Nuu and will bring any possible news of a commitment.
