Britton Loved Tucson Visit (free content)

Eben Britton recently finished a disappointing season for 4-6 Burroughs. He was much more cheerful as he watched his future team beat Arizona State in person last weekend. Cat Tracks caught up with him to get a visit recap.

"It was awesome," said Britton emphatically. "I am so happy with my decision to go there. Before, I had chosen Arizona because of the coaches and academics, but now I went there and really got to know the players and I see that they are a family there. Everybody wants to win."

His host on the trip was freshman offensive lineman, Joseph Longacre. The game and a couple of steak dinners really stood out to Britton. "The game was pretty awesome. It was very exciting to see them win like that. I also got to go to two different restaurants (McMahon's and Fleming's) where I had a couple of the best steak dinners I've ever eaten. The whole trip was just unreal."

Up until recently there were a couple of powerhouse programs that wouldn't take 'no' for an answer from Britton. "Cal and Oklahoma were calling me a lot. Both of them offered me scholarships and told me they really wanted me. They knew where I was going all along."

Coach Tui is going by Burroughs this week and Coaches Williams and Wolford will be dropping by the Britton home for a visit next week.

He finished the year with 41 tackles, six sacks, three forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries on offense. He is not sure how many pancakes he had on offense. "I do not know for sure, but I know it was a lot. This is the best season I've played."
