In the middle of June just as school had ended I took a trip to Tucson, Arizona to find out what U of A football was all about. After seeing what the U of A had to offer: facilities, academics, people, and what the coaches wanted to accomplish, I decided it was the place for me.
Now you must first understand that yes I had seen what others had to offer such as UCLA, USC, and ASU, all of which had terrific facilities, great academics, great people, and great coaches. However when it came down to it, I just had a great feeling in the middle of my heart that the U of A was just right for me. One may also ask what about all the other schools like Oklahoma, Oregon, Oregon State and Washington and so on and so forth. Well, I thought about them as well and realized that everywhere there would be the great facilities, the great academics, the great people, and the coaches that want big things for their program and so on. However I just felt that none of these schools would be as good a fit for me as the U of A.
My official visit only assured me that I had made the right decision. After a long few months with much disappointment in my own season, and watching weekend after weekend as the Wildcats fought hard until the end, losing all close games in which a break here, a break there they might have won, it was nice to finally see the U of A end the season off right with a huge win over their rival, proving to the world that the U of A is for real. This is clearly a taste of what to expect in the years to come.
I had originally committed because of the academics and my position coach (coach Wolford), my official, however, showed me that the U of A is a big time family atmosphere, which is what helped assure me that I had made the right decision.
