Game Talk: Arizona outplayed

No one in the Arizona locker room was happy following the Wildcat's 88-72 loss to ASU. The players were happy with their individual performances, and Coach Lute Olson was unhappy with team effort.

Lute Olson:

"There's not much to say other than they beat us every way that you can be beat. Whether it was on the boards, assists to turnovers, whatever you want to talk about, they just outplayed us in every facet."

"I don't think this is as much about us as it is about how well they played."

"They had more energy. You could see that right off. They were going at the boards with authority. Where we were not, they were attacking."

ASU Head Coach Rob Evans:

Our guys came out tonight and played with a purpose...we had two tough games over the weekend and we were right there...our team showed good execution and maturity tonight."

"Oregon was our best game, but we played very well tonight."

"We came close last weekend, Utah was a good win for us..."

Luke Walton:

"We came out there playing, they went out there with a purpose."

"I thought people were ready to go, I guess I was wrong."

Isaiah Fox:

"They are a solid ball club, but if we played them 10 more times, we'd beat them 10 times."

Channing Frye:

I felt we came out flat again. They just get up on us when we try to make a run to come back."

Notes:

*Arizona got down by 20 for the second straight time.

*The win snapped an ASU 12 game losing streak to the Wildcats.

*Only two Arizona players finished in double figures, four Sun Devils scored in double figures.

*Arizona shot 2-16 from behind the arc. Gardner hit both of them.
