Hall Likes Four

Ray Hall, a 6-10 junior center from Colorado, tells us that four schools stand out for him at this time...

Ray Hall, 6-10 JR C Denver (Col.) Mullen, is one of the elite big men in the west for 2006. He's got a big body and very soft hands, with surprisingly nimble feet. One of the better passers among the centers in the west, Hall has been drawing interest from high majors across the country.

We spoke with Hall yesterday and asked him about the schools he's been hearing from so far.

"Kansas, UCLA, Arizona, North Carolina and some others," said Hall.

We asked Hall if it would be fair to characterize those four schools as his early leaders.

"Yes," said Hall. "I like those schools right now."

We asked Hall which coaches had been out to see him recently and he replied, "Coach Howland was here to see a game."

Hall said he hasn't yet scheduled any official visits. "But I've talked with Kansas and UCLA about taking unofficial visits," said Hall. "We haven't set a date yet though.

Previously, Hall told us that he doesn't see himself making an early decision. "I'm going to take my time," Hall said. You never know what's going to happen with coaches -- getting fired or leaving for another job."

CAT TRACKS' ANALYSIS: Hall is generating a lot of attention, but he still has some improving to do if he is to be an elite big man. He may not be at the very top of the Wildcats' wish list, but he is a guy they are clearly keeping an on as his junior season progresses and throughout the summer recruiting circuit.
