Freshman Will Miller scattered five hits over six innings to pick up his first career win with the Wildcats. Miller was solid, giving up only one unearned run, while striking out one and walking none. Kevin Sears worked two scoreless innings in relief before giving way to Tony Sulser in the ninth who picked up his third save of the season.
Freshman Richard Mercado extended his team-high hitting streak to nine consecutive games with a first inning double that turned into Arizona first run on Chris Cunningham's RBI single. Mercado finished the game 2-for-5 with a RBI and one run scored.
Sophomore Moises Duran was the only other Arizona player to collect more than one hit, as the Wildcats left a season-high 12 runners on base. Duran picked up his third multi-hit game of the year with a 3-for-4 effort.
