Many schools have been by North High this spring to see Cody Dowd. Dowd is potentially the state's top linebacker prospect. He could be on the verge of many scholarship offers. U of A is right in the thick of things.

"Things are going good," responded Cody Dowd when asked how is recruitment was progressing. "I am getting a lot of letters and many schools have told my coach they really like me. Wyoming, Arizona and Arizona State said that if they liked what they saw this spring they will be offering."

Michigan and Nebraska have been by the school this past week. "Right now, I like Nebraska, Georgia, Oregon, Arizona, and Arizona State. It is basically those five."

Dowd grew up a Cornhusker fan and still has a fondness for the Big Red. "I always liked them because they were a great school for lineman and in football until the last few years, I've been a lineman."

He says that NU and Georgia are showing the most current attention.

Dowd was supposed to attend UA's spring game but couldn't make it. "I had to take a physical before spring ball started. It was my last chance to do it."

Dowd and new teammate, Jeff Jones, will be in Los Angeles next weekend for the All-American combine.
