"I liked how it was real small," he said. "I went to a class and the student-teacher ratio was about 10:1. Coach is real cool. [They have] great academics there and a great basketball program. I liked it a lot out there."
The Demon Deacons are also looking at Stepheson at the position he prefers as well, power forward. "I'm thinking power forward, and coach told me he's looking for me at power forward," he said.
With the recent visit to Wake Forest, Stepheson now lists the Deacs among his favorites. Other favorites on his list include Georgia Tech, Washington, North Carolina, Arizona, and UConn. "I've got about 5-6 [on my list]," he noted. "Most of those schools have offered – [all] except North Carolina.
While Stepheson is a prospect from the west coast, he notes that he is not at all against leaving the state of California for the east coast if the school is right. "I think basketball-wise, the coach [is important,"] Stepheson said when asked what he is looking for in a school. "When I go out on visits, I'm going to take my visits in the fall, and it will be the gut feeling I get there."
In the meantime, he will continue to work on his game and improve during the summer. "I'm working on staying low in the post, just trying on getting stronger, and I'm working on my shot," Stepheson said.
