"I think I've done OK," said Johnson of his spring performance. "But, I'm still young and I think that I have a lot to learn and improve on before my last summer of AAU basketball."
A streaky shooter who is improving his overall ball skills on the perimeter, Johnson is at his best slashing to the basket and finishing in transition. With his long and angular frame, rebounding prowess and his ability to finish on the inside while developing perimeter skills, he has been compared to a younger Shawn Marion.
Johnson himself looks to a couple of other NBA Superstars when trying to add to his game.
"I would say Tracy McGrady and Kevin Garnett," said Johnson. "I like everything about those guys, and they've got heart."
With the kind of reputation and proven track record of on-the-court success that Johnson has, it isn't surprising that many of the nation's elite are tracking his progress. There are a few in particular that he has an early eye on.
"Arizona, Texas, Kentucky, Kansas, North Carolina, those are the main schools," said Johnson of the colleges he likes. "All of them have offered."
According to Johnson he hasn't gotten too far into the process of really breaking down his early favorites. Academics will be important and he hasn't decided whether or nor he'd like to remain close to, or get away from, home for school.
Unlike many players who might demand that they play exclusively on the wing, Johnson is looking for a place that will give him an opportunity to play both the three and the four.
